My name is IngrÄ«da Žagata, and I first encountered clay when I was 12 years old. From that moment on, ceramics has been not only my job, but also my way of life. I graduated from the Riga Design and Art High School in 1984 and in 2017 I received a master’s degree in pedagogical sciences from the University of Latvia. Since 1985, I have established my own ceramics workshop, which is located near the Baltic Sea and surrounded by beautifully blooming meadows and forests. The inspiration for my works is the traditions of Latvian ceramics and Latvian nature.
