This Vendor Agreement (“Agreement”) governs the relationship between CraftsCity (“CraftsCity”, “we”, “our”, or “the Platform”) and any individual or business (“Vendor”, “Seller”, “you”, or “your”) who registers to sell products through the CraftsCity online marketplace. By registering a shop, listing products, or selling items through the Platform, you agree to be legally bound by this Agreement.
1. NATURE OF THE PLATFORM
CraftsCity operates an online marketplace that enables independent vendors to offer handmade or related products for sale to buyers. Vendors operate their own independent businesses on the Platform. CraftsCity provides the technical marketplace infrastructure only. Each Vendor operates an independent business and is solely responsible for the operation of their shop and all transactions conducted through it.
CraftsCity is not a retailer, distributor, manufacturer, or partner in the Vendor’s business and does not take ownership of Vendor products. The Vendor is solely responsible for their shop, listings, pricing, customer interactions, fulfilment of orders, and compliance with applicable laws.
2. VENDOR ELIGIBILITY
To sell on CraftsCity, you must:
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have the legal capacity to operate a business and enter binding contracts
• Provide accurate account and shop information
You are responsible for maintaining the security and proper use of all account credentials, including passwords and access to your seller account.
3. VENDOR SHOPS AND LISTINGS
CraftsCity allows vendors to create their own shop within the marketplace. CraftsCity provides an automated selling system in which vendors manage their shops, listings, and orders through a seller control panel available in their account.
You are responsible for all content published in your shop, including product listings, descriptions, pricing, and images. All listings must be accurate, lawful, and clearly described so that buyers understand what they are purchasing. You must only sell products that you have the legal right to sell and must ensure that all content used in your listings is either owned by you or properly licensed.
This includes responsibility for:
• Product photographs and lifestyle images
• Designs, artwork, logos, and written descriptions
• Any third-party images or materials used in listings
You must not copy images, designs, descriptions, or other content from other websites, marketplaces, social media platforms, or stock libraries unless you hold the appropriate licence or written permission. CraftsCity reserves the right to remove listings that are misleading, unlawful, infringing, or inconsistent with the Platform's standards.
4. PRICING AND TAXES
a. Vendors set their own prices for products sold on the Platform.
b. All product prices must be fully inclusive of all applicable taxes, duties, and additional charges, including Value Added Tax (VAT) where applicable.
c. You are solely responsible for complying with all tax obligations, including registration, reporting, and payment of VAT or any other applicable taxes in the jurisdictions where you sell your products.
d. CraftsCity does not provide tax advice and does not assume responsibility for Vendor tax compliance.
5. FEES AND PAYMENTS
a. Vendors may create a shop on the CraftsCity Platform without an initial setup fee and generally only pay platform fees when a sale is completed or where optional listing or subscription services are used.
b. CraftsCity charges a 10% commission fee on completed sales made through the Platform.
6. PAYMENT PROCESSING
CraftsCity does not operate a wallet, bank account, or stored value service for Vendors. Payments are processed through third-party payment providers, including PayPal and Stripe.
Fees associated with payment processing are handled as follows:
• PayPal transaction fees and listing fees are paid through PayPal.
• Stripe processing fees are deducted at the point of sale.
Stripe’s current processing fees are:
• 1.5% + £0.20 per transaction for UK cards
• 2.5% + £0.20 per transaction for EU cards
These charges are subject to change according to Stripe’s pricing structure. Payment processing through these services ensures that transactions are recorded and disputes may be handled through the payment provider’s resolution systems.
CraftsCity is not responsible for payment processing delays, errors, or service interruptions caused by third-party payment providers.
7. ORDERS AND ORDER NOTIFICATIONS
When a buyer places an order in your shop, you will receive an email notification containing the order details. Orders can also be viewed within your seller account dashboard or control panel. Vendors are responsible for reviewing, processing, and fulfilling all orders placed through their shop.
8. ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION
By listing products on the Platform, you grant CraftsCity permission to advertise, market, and promote your products. This may include promotion on the CraftsCity website and external marketing channels, including social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, etc. CraftsCity may use product images, shop names, or listing descriptions for promotional purposes related to the Platform.
9. PROHIBITED ITEMS
Vendors must not list or sell products that are illegal, unsafe, counterfeit, infringing, or otherwise prohibited by law. CraftsCity reserves the right to remove any listing or suspend accounts where prohibited items are detected.
10. ORDERS, SHIPPING AND FULFILMENT
Vendors are fully responsible for the fulfilment of all orders placed through their shop. This includes inventory management, packaging, dispatch, shipping arrangements, delivery tracking, where available, and customer communication regarding delivery. CraftsCity does not store inventory, handle shipping, manage delivery logistics, or process refunds on behalf of vendors.
11. RETURNS, REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS
a. Vendors must create and clearly display their own return, refund, and cancellation policies within their shop.
b. All refunds, returns, cancellations, and disputes are handled directly between the Vendor and the Buyer.
12. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
CraftsCity retains all intellectual property rights relating to the Platform, including its software, branding, website design, and functionality. Vendors retain ownership of their product images, designs, shop branding, and other materials uploaded to the Platform. However, Vendors grant CraftsCity a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and promote such materials for the purpose of operating and marketing the Platform.
13. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
CraftsCity provides the Platform on an “as is” and “as available” basis and makes no guarantee regarding the performance, reliability, or availability of the Platform. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CraftsCity shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from or related to:
• Vendor use of the Platform
• Vendor products or listings
• Transactions between Vendors and Buyers
• Order fulfilment, shipping, or refunds
• Payment processing services provided by third parties
Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
14. INDEMNIFICATION
The Vendor agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CraftsCity, its owners, officers, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to:
• the Vendor’s products
• product defects or safety issues
• inaccurate listings or misrepresentations
• intellectual property infringement
• breach of this Agreement or applicable laws
15. SUSPENSION OR REMOVAL OF ACCOUNTS
CraftsCity may suspend, restrict, or terminate Vendor access to the Platform if the Vendor violates this Agreement, sells prohibited items, engages in fraudulent conduct, or otherwise creates legal or reputational risk for the Platform. Termination of access does not affect any obligations that arose prior to the termination date.
16. REPORTING TECHNICAL OR LEGAL ISSUES
Technical issues, suspected misuse of the Platform, or legal concerns may be reported using the appropriate form available in the CraftsCity Help Centre. CraftsCity will review such reports and take appropriate action where necessary.
17. AMENDMENTS
CraftsCity may update or modify this Agreement from time to time to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. Updated terms will be published on the Platform with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Platform after updates are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Agreement.
18. GOVERNING LAW
This Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to this Agreement shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
19. ACCEPTANCE OF AGREEMENT
By registering a shop, listing products, or selling on the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with this Vendor Agreement and your responsibilities as a Vendor on CraftsCity.
